Marchand came to the house from a bench rather than a drawing board, and it shows in what she will not do. Nothing leaves her studio that cannot be worn every day of a week. Nothing is drawn around a stone the house does not already hold. And nothing is finished until it has been worn by someone who did not make it, for a month, without being told what to look for.
