What the index counts as restoration

A business is filed here when the work it does returns a vehicle to a condition it once had — panel fabrication, paint, a rebuilt engine, a re-trimmed interior. Routine servicing is filed under its own trade, and a garage that does both appears in both.

Every one of the 1,046 businesses has been checked twice: once when it applied, and again within the last twelve months. 3,090 applications have been refused across all trades, most of them because the address turned out to be a dealership subcontracting the work elsewhere.

The index does not rank. Inside a distance, the order is by the number of reviews read, and no business can pay to move up it.
